  1. The Mann-Whitney U test and Fisher's exact test were used to compare for inter-group differences of continuous and categorical variables (a p value < 0.0071 was considered significant). To test for predictors of cinacalcet use after renal transplantation, univariate logistic regression was applied and risk ratios (RRs) of significant variables were calculated. Risk ratios and their respective 95% CI were calculated for increments as follows: calcium for an increase of 0.1 mmol/L, phosphate for an increase of 1.0 mmol/L and PTH 4 weeks post-transplant for an increase of 20 pmol/L. On univariate logistic regression, p values of significant variables (not shown in the table) were: 0.0039 for calcium, 0.0124 for phosphate, 0.0001 for PTH at time of RTx, 0.0000 for pill burden and 0.0000 for cinacalcet use on waiting list, respectively.
