Cytokine signaling of Janus kinases. Binding of a cytokine to its receptor activates the associated Janus kinase (JAK), which then phosphorylates (P) the receptor and provides a docking site for signal transducers and activators of transcription (STATs). In turn, STATs become phosphorylated and translocate to the nucleus to regulate gene expression. From [8].
